Visiting Kirkland
November, 30 2021
We always say that Kirkland is an amazing place to live, work, and play. With so much to do here, planning a visit might be overwhelming, but not to worry! We have put together an entire day’s itinerary for your next visit to Kirkland so you can experience a small taste of what this amazing city has to offer!
8:00 am - Early bird gets the worm so we are starting our Kirkland day trip early. No early day is complete without the perfect cup of coffee. Start your morning at Kirkland’s Caffe Ladro, a local spot full of personality right in the heart of downtown.
8:30 am - The next stop has to be George’s, Kirklands oldest family owned and operated restaurant. Since 1976, George’s has been serving up scrumptious traditional dishes with a Greek flare. Once you try this spot you will understand why they have won “Best Breakfast” in Kirkland over 9 times.
10:00 am - With a city full of history, the Kirkland Heritage Museum has to be on your itinerary. Since 1977 the Kirkland Historical Commission has been preserving and showcasing Kirkland history for residents and visitors to enjoy. This museum houses many vintage collectibles, interesting photos, and stories that would amaze you.
11:00 am - Once you are done learning about Kirkland, it’s time to stroll around Downtown to get a true feel for what makes Kirkland so special. With so many unique shops and businesses right in downtown, you will have the chance to shop at unique stores and meet great people along the way!
Noon - A busy day has worked up your appetite. It’s time to enjoy a yummy lunch at BeachHouse Bar + Grill! With great food and beautiful views, this spot is a Kirkland favorite. If it’s a clear day, you can even see Seattle from across the water.
1:30 pm - The afternoon is the perfect time for a stroll through Kirklands beautiful nature. We recommend starting at Bridle Trails State Park. This beautiful park transforms you from the hustle and bustle of the city to a quiet and tranquil space with tall trees that line the pathways.
4:00 pm - Kirkland is known for its love and support of the arts, so visiting a gallery is a must! Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery showcases regional and local artists as one of the oldest galleries in the area.
5:30 pm - With so many great dining options it is hard to pick just one spot, but a local favorite is Cafe Juanita, a beautiful restaurant that supports sustainable agriculture through their menu.
8:00 pm - End your night at the Kirkland Performance Center, where local artists and performers take the main stage for a unique experience. The stage and seats were actually designed to make every seat in the audience feel close to the stage.
Our goal at Windermere Kirkland is to be a resource for the community. Aside from helping you buy or sell your home, our team is dedicated to adding value to our city. Every other Tuesday we will be posting a blog post highlighting different people, businesses, communities, and more throughout Kirkland. Stay tuned!
