At Windermere Kirkland, giving back to our community plays a major role within our office. Through various volunteer opportunities throughout the year, we work to make our community a better place. That is why we wanted to share some of the amazing local volunteer opportunities with you because after all, #wearekirkland.

“Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.”

― H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Attain Housing

Attain Housing is an organization championing affordable housing in the Eastside. Local homelessness is an issue that many do not even realize exists in Kirkland and surrounding areas. Through various events like weekly community suppers (where you can find our team volunteering from time-to-time), to the 7 Hills of Kirkland Bike Ride, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved to help end homelessness on the Eastside.

City Of Kirkland

The city of Kirkland also offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to give back to the community. Choose between one-time opportunities like volunteering at a Kirkland Event, or ongoing opportunities like Speed Watch or Park Maintenance Projects. If you are under 18, you can still get involved, with a parent or guardian’s permission. Note: If you are interested in a long term role, you will need to pass a background check. Check out their calendar of events here.

Meow Cat Rescue

Animal lover? The Meow Cat Rescue provides many opportunities to help local animals. You can be an adoption counselor, or a buddy which provides daily love and care to the shelter residents. Check out their website for a list of opportunities and to sign-up!

Evergreen Health

If you want to be an essential part of a hospital, volunteering at Evergreen Health is the perfect fit! You can get involved in many different ways including Behind-the-scenes support including office positions, patient care units, animal-assisted therapy teams, and more!

Kirkland Downtown

Love Downtown Kirkland and all it has to offer? You can be a part of the teams that help at various events that make Downtown the most unique place on the Eastside. They offer volunteer opportunities for individuals, or even businesses looking to get involved.

Community Emergency Response Team

Be a part of the team that helps our community prepare for various emergencies. You can help set up classrooms, be involved with drills as a “victim”, or be a part of community outreach at various events.

Our goal at Windermere Kirkland is to be a resource for the community. Aside from helping you buy or sell your home, our team is dedicated to adding value to our city. Every other Tuesday we will be posting a blog post highlighting different people, businesses, communities, and more throughout Kirkland. Stay tuned!
