7 Hills of Kirkland - Shifting Gears
May 5, 2020
As our world adjusts to the uncertainty that has unfolded, many have been left homeless and without necessary resources. Attain Housing, a local organization that helps end homelessness by providing transitional housing and resources to families, has been hard at work to combat this.
Each year Memorial Day serves as one of the biggest fundraisers for Attain Housing throughout the year and provides critical contributions to their overall mission. Each year on Memorial Day weekend, hundreds gather to ride and participate in the Attain Housing 7 Hills of Kirkland bike ride. Each rider who participates fundraises within their communities to raise money for Attain Housing’s various programs. Complete with yearly traditions like a bagpiper playing at the top of the hill as riders speed past or the 1,000 pounds of shortcake that was baked by our own Rob Scarber as a finish line treat for riders. Needless to say, the entire event is an adventure from start to finish that is loved by many.
This year, Seven Hills of Kirkland is shifting gears to offer the ride and opportunity to raise money for the community - in a new way! Here’s what’s new:
