On this month's episode of PNW Mike Check, dynamic duo Mike Connolly & BJ Connolly, owners at Windermere Real Estate Central, answer questions together! BJ shares her insight on real estate, experiences spearheading the new office construction, and everything in between, all while working and owning a business with her husband.

As someone who has worked with both Mike & BJ for two years it was great to sit down with them both as their dynamic is a major aspect of what makes Windermere Kirkland a success. This sit-down with BJ was also extra special, as some of you may recognize her voice, she is the person behind the intro/outro of our podcast!

Being married and running a business together is no small feat, but Mike and BJ are conscious of the potential overlap into their daily lives when they get home. They both explain that as owners there are times where work has to come home, but knowing the importance of when it can wait is crucial. They make an effort to get outside and enjoy their hobbies like riding bikes or gardening to keep their time together just that - theirs! 

At the office, both Mike & BJ are fully present for their team. BJ explains that her role as an owner and broker has allowed her to help the office behind-the-scenes. The collaborative work environment that both Mike and BJ have created allows the brokers to approach them both when they need something or have questions. BJ tells us that she loves being a resource for the team and being there for them all is a joy of being an owner.

In addition to helping at the current office, BJ has been instrumental in the new office construction process. From helping with the big picture, down to picking out door knobs and paint colors, this project has been a labor of love for BJ. This  project is a perfect example of the synergy that Mike and BJ have on a project. Mike has been in charge of the behind-the-scenes tasks with bankers and contractors, while BJ has been spearheading the progress of the design with the building. With that comes a lot of thought and BJ has been leading the charge on how to create a space that is inviting, efficient, and has the potential to grow as the team grows. 

When asked what Windermere Kirkland will look like moving forward, Mike answered, “very much the same”, with client focussed community members who serve and collaborate here in Kirkland and the Eastside. BJ is excited for the team to keep growing, the new office, and the continued community involvement. Both Mike & BJ have created an atmosphere of community at the office that extends to Kirkland and the surrounding Eastside. The new building will be a hub for Windermere and the community to converge, and ultimately keep growing. 

Both Mike & BJ make what they do look easy. By talking to them both we know that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get to where they are now, and we admire their journey and keep applauding them both as they continue to grow as leaders in our community.
