Here at Windermere Kirkland we love where we work, live and play. If you are at all familiar with Kirkland, you understand what makes this place so special. But we wanted to share some of our answers when someone asks “Why Kirkland?”

Small Town Vibes, Big City Resources

Kirkland has over 88,000 residents, however you cannot help but feel a sense of togetherness when you are out and about around town. It may be because of all of the small businesses in town, or it may be the community involvement of everyone who lives here. It is undeniable that each person who encounters Kirkland feels a similar type of wonderment.

The beauty of Kirkland though is that it feels like a small town, but there are the resources of a big city, which leaves residents feeling fulfilled on many fronts. For example, companies like Google house their campus here in Kirkland, with plans of other tech companies following suit in the future. This provides jobs and resources to many local residents who are contributing to the tech advancements that the PNW is making in the world.

Incredible Parks

Kirkland offers over 50 parks, including 6 state and county parks. With so many options for outdoor play, there is always something for everyone. If you want a waterfront beach experience there is Juanita Bay Park, if you want to join a community garden there is Tot Lot Park & Pea Patch, if you want to go for a nice nature walk and possibly see some horses there is Bridle Trails Park. Not to mention all of the different play areas these parks offer for children of all ages. Here in Kirkland there is no shortage of outdoor options. Use this guide for a complete list of the parks Kirkland has to offer.

Organizations

One of our main guiding principles here at Windermere Kirkland is to give back to the community and make a positive impact for those around us. We are lucky to have partnered with incredible local organizations like Attain Housing, who help homeless families build strength and get a new start. Each year they host a 7 Hills of Kirkland bike ride that raises money for this cause, and each year we have the opportunity to help them reach their goals as a sponsor of the ride.

Schools

Kirkland’s 25 public and private schools are among the top ranking schools in Washington. The caliber of education offered here in Kirkland makes it a great place to raise a family. We even have two colleges here in Kirkland, Northwest University and Lake Washington Institute of Technology. With so many options for schooling, Kirkland provides a high-quality learning environment for every type of student.

Uniquely Kirkland

Proximity To Seattle

Want to explore the city for the day or go see a game at one of the stadiums in Seattle? We are only a short drive to the hustle and bustle of Seattle and all it offers. When asking our brokers what they love about living so close to Seattle they say they love exploring the city then coming back home to Kirkland, and we agree!

Kirkland, Washington - a truly special place. Anyone who lives, works, and plays here can agree that we are lucky to be live in such a unique place, making us proud to say #wearekirkland.

Our goal at Windermere Kirkland is to be a resource for the community. Aside from helping you buy or sell your home, our team is dedicated to adding value to our city.
